It is not clear whether you are referring to not seeing buttons for "hibernate" and "standby" or whether you have the buttons but they do not cause the pc to enter "hibernate" or "standby" mode? And have you had this problem since you bought the pc or did it work for a while then stop working?

If using a keyboard with a hibernate button, you may need to install the software for that keyboard. If that's not an issue... Check Control Panel> Power Options> Hibernate (or APM depending on age of system) to see if Standby/Hibernate is enabled. If still no luck... Usually a bit of software (driver or program)

The SCSI disk is IBM. The mouse on the system has been constant throughout so I assume this is a misleading error message. Other than this problem with hibernate/standby everything is working just fine. Any idea what needs to be done to get Hibernate/Standby working again? Thanks. Paul Sinclair.

Thats NOT difficult for Microsoft to stop the service when computer hibernates. I lost my work twice when laptop was running on batteries. If you don't need RRAS anymore, you can go into the mmc and disable it. If you do need it, the last thing you want is for the machine to hibernate. ...kurt.

It sometimes helps to move to a higher level of standby when the existing level is not working. It only takes one problematic driver or program to cause the system not to enter any Once in standby/hibernate mode, everything works properly but unit still runs (FAN).
