I reinstalled XP Pro (became part of a network, so needed XP Pro) and since then standby and hibernate do not work when: Outlook 2003, Word 2003 and OneNote are opened. I have not found a set of actions that works consistently. Sometimes I have to reboot. In the card utility program, I have a similar problem with a Dell lattitude cs (400 Piii) and W2kPro. Two seperate branded cards (US Robotics and Orinoco) function identically: if machine is in hibernate (not suspend) or "power
