Wireless not working after standby
S1 and hibernate work fine. I'm guessing that the S3 and CPUidle problems are somehow connected, as they both put the CPU to sleep to some degree but past that I've only got a vague suspicion it's a driver problem. However, I've tried disabling just about everything I can and drawn a blank.

Resolution of Optiplex standby problem
I am having a problem when my computer comes back from stand by or hibernate, the wireless Connection is does not work and I have to restart the computer in order to get a No IP is being assigned after the computer comes back from standby. I have an HP lap top and I ussually close it when I am not working.

Net forces a reboot, so if you installed another application recently and did not reboot, that may be the source of the problem. I did some research based on your NET installs a version of Terminal Services which then stop the hibernate/standby processing working due to the 'Terminal Server Keyboard Driver'.

Hibernate/Standby Problem
Now the system will not resume from standby if more than 30 minutes have passed. Less than this and resume works just fine. More than 30 minutes and the screen stays blank, external USB devices never get power but the fan comes on and the DVD drive becomes active. Bizarre. Hibernate works just fine.

Annoying S3 Standby Problem
I uninstalled Real Player, rebooted and Shutdown/Hibernate/Standby all work properly now. I saw this suggested in a newsgroup message. You might want to give it a try. Then I checked the Event log and found out that it was PGP, which is not allowing machine to going in the Hibernation. On uninstalling the PGP Hibernation and sleep mode are working fine. Suspend, at least for the moment, is working fine, though Com1 is unavailable. So apparently there was an interaction between the ATI video driver (which must have caused a crash, preventing the error message from appearing) and the Samsung CDMA modem driver, which was interfering with standby, but not by itself
